Equipping Inmates with Life and Vocational Skills:

Recognizing the importance of rehabilitation and reintegration into society, the Rehab Foundation actively engages in equipping inmates and ex-prison inmates with essential life and vocational skills. This holistic approach aims to empower individuals with the tools needed for a successful transition back into their communities. The foundation accomplishes this through various means, including:

  • Connecting Inmates with Professionals: The foundation connects inmates with professionals such as psychologists, counselors, and healthcare professionals, ensuring that they receive the necessary support and guidance to address their unique needs and challenges.
  • Reuniting Ex-Prison Inmates with Their Families: Understanding the stigma associated with being a former inmate and the importance of family in the rehabilitation process, the foundation facilitates the reconnection of ex-prison inmates with their families and provides the necessary support to foster healthy bonds. This initiative aims to address the fear of stigmatization that often prevents individuals from returning to their families and communities.
  • Advocating for Acceptance: The Rehab Foundation takes an active role in advocating for the acceptance of ex-prison inmates within their communities. The foundation has engaged with traditional rulers and community leaders, including the Ataoja of Osogbo and other community heads, to promote a more inclusive and accepting environment for ex-prison inmates.
  • Meaningful Contributions to Inmates’ Welfare: As part of its mission, the foundation supports inmates and ex-prison inmates with vocational tools and resources, identifying their specific needs and providing assistance accordingly. Through annual outreach programs, the foundation has donated items such as computer desks, educational materials, desks, and external exam enrollment fees to correctional homes, improving the inmates’ quality of life.
