About Us

Introduction

The Rehab Foundation, initially conceived as a NYSC community development project in Osun State, Nigeria, has grown into a formidable social justice foundation with a profound commitment to addressing critical issues within the criminal justice system. Founded on principles of justice, equity, and rehabilitation, the foundation’s core objectives encompass providing free legal services to indigent awaiting trial inmates unjustly incarcerated in Africa, equipping inmates and ex-prison inmates with life and vocational skills for proper reintegration into society, and establishing post-detention transition homes for ex-prison inmates across the continent.

Our Strategies

The Rehab Foundation’s effectiveness is attributed to its strategic approach, which includes:

  • Collaboration: The foundation believes in the power of collaboration and has partnered with similar nonprofit organizations and government agencies, including the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, Humanserve Organization, African Law Students Association, AND Nigerian Bar Association to maximize its impact.
  • Hands-On Fieldwork: The foundation takes a hands-on approach to its work, actively visiting correctional homes, identifying inmates’ needs, and addressing them proactively.

The Rehab Foundation, born from a humble community development project, has evolved into a formidable advocate for social justice in Nigeria and beyond. Its dedication to providing free legal representation, equipping inmates with essential skills, and establishing transition homes exemplifies a holistic approach to addressing the complexities of the criminal justice system.
